Chocolate Festival

Yes, its the best kind of festival there can be! This weekend in Bristol at the harbourside there was a Chocolate Festival and I nearly missed it! I didn't know this was on until the Saturday it started. Luckily I was able to have a quick visit on the Sunday. The weather was cold but sunny for a change so I was able to get some good photos despite the fact that some stands wouldn't let me take any pictures. I understand if they think people will copy the chocolate designs. There were some nice people who didn't mind though.

I had to buy some of the hot chocolate mix from this stand. I loove hot chocolate! I got the white chocolate and mint flavoured ones so I will report on how they were soon.

I want to know who designed the packaging for them. Its so cool! Especially the gingerbread one.

I haven't tried red velvet cakes yet so I was intrigued when I saw them in cupcake form. I bought one and one of the chocolate and raspberry. Here is a link to the website of the people who had this stand if you want to see more http://www.chocorico.co.uk/

They also had some savoury things incase you aren't a chocolatey type of person.

I have lived in Bristol all my life and never knew they put a little market on the harbourside as well. There were book stands and even cider! There was some really nice hand-made jewelry stands that I will have to return to soon. You can find one of the jewelry stands here http://elsiebelle.com/

Hoppy Easter

Getting ready for Easter? I look forward to the obligatory chocolate eating! Here I have been experimenting with some new techniques of combining scanned materials (lace, stitched papers etc) and  hand-drawn text. I think I may have overdone it but it got to the point where I had been looking at it for so long I couldn't tell if t looked good or not :P I took inspiration from cinnamon aitch who have a really nice style of combining patterns and hand drawn illustrations.

I have also been trying to find a good way to photograph cards. I'm struggling to make the background light but not let the card look grey. Perhaps I need to get some better lighting. I know these are a bit late for mother's day but I thought it made sense to put together with the easter cards as they have the same style.

Krakow: Summer visit

I need to get into a sunnier mood because it is meant to be Spring at the moment and it sure doesn't feel like it! These are photos I took when I went to Krakow last Summer. I wanted to see what it was like with some more pleasant weather as I had previously been on a university trip in the Winter. I do love snow but there's only so much cold you can take before you think enough now, can I please not be shivering all the time. I made a post about my last visit here and then a part 2 here if you want to have a look.

The castle you see across here is the Wawel Castle. We visited the inside but I wasn't allowed to take any photos.

The old town square with the market going through the central building.

They had a career fair going on outside with a stage set up for music later on.

We took a boat trip around the river and this is a photo of the other side of castle.

People were sunbathing beside the river.

This was spray painted on the pavement.

"Hey cat, watch out, don't walk on the 't'! Oops too late..."

Loving the windows on this cafe!

Don't mind if I do!

Free beer man! Yay!

There were some bubbles floating down the street from a toy shop. They were actually really hard to get a photo of!

Courtyard inside the castle.

Fire-breathing dragon!

Look out child!

He'll eat your books too apparently?

I wanted to compare Winter and Summer together and I think I like both but I want Summer right now.
